How Community Acupuncture Works
A return to acupuncture practiced in a group setting as is common in East Asia. Treatments will be given on a first come, first serve basis with treatments lasting approximately 45 min. Street clothes are acceptable, but clothing that allows for easy access to arms (elbows to hands), legs (full knee to feet) and head (down to shoulders) works best.

Brian Glashow

Brian’s journey towards becoming an acupuncturist began as a university student in the 1990s. Inspired by the Tao Te Ching and other classics of Taoist philosophy, he studied Mandarin Chinese, and traveled to China and Taiwan for several years to study, work and explore. As a life-long asthmatic and allergy-sufferer, Brian became increasingly determined to ween himself off of prescription medications. Living as a musician and educator in Brooklyn, NY, he became proactive about finding natural alternatives to improve his health. He began to modify his diet and focus on eating whole foods. He immersed himself in yoga and became a certified instructor. Eventually, he discovered acupuncture, qigong, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and his health improved dramatically. Brian moved to California to dedicate himself to learning this remarkable medicine at one of the best TCM schools in the country, Yo San University. Coming full circle, he learned that the philosophy that drew him to initially study Chinese culture was in fact, the foundation of Chinese medical theory.

Brian is a caring and enthusiastic clinician. In addition to English, he speaks Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.
