Learn to listen to your body and trust in it's own intelligent movement. Explore, question, and examine, and learn to create space in the body and invite a deep freedom from within. The goal is not performance of the pose, but rather experiencing ease, mobility, and clarity in your body and mind - releasing habits and blocks that lead to fragmented, stressful movement and prevent us from being fully present and realizing our potential.
This work is suitable for any age, fitness level and experience. All can benefit from it’s ability to ease pain from tension and/or injury, to increase well being, and to help develop a true friendship with your body and acquire the tools for a sustainable practice that can last a lifetime.
Kay brings decades of experience to her teaching. She began practicing yoga in the early 1990s, and has been teaching since 1998. After reading “Awakening the Spine” by Vanda Scaravelli, she was inspired to pursue the approach pioneered by Vanda, with it’s emphasis on quality of attention and awareness, and refinement of movement.
In 1999 she began studying with Diane Long, who was a longtime student of Vanda’s. Kay continues to work with Diane today, and has traveled the world studying with her, as well as teaching. She has lived and taught in Philadelphia, PA; Berkeley, CA; Rome, Italy; and Madison, WI. and has traveled and taught throughout Europe and the United States, and India. In late 2016 Kay and her family moved to Los Angeles, where she is now based.
